Grandpa Great's Service

JD's Grandpa passed away on March 13th so we traveled to Preston Idaho for his service that weekend. They just did a graveside service and it was really nice. We got to hear a lot of stories about him growing up, and the things he did through his life. Everyone has always refered to Grandpa as a Bee Keeper I had no idea he had been a teacher for many years before going into the Bee/honey business. They told a story about him using dynamite to blow a stump out in the back yard so he could put in a wading pool for the kids and he did it with out breaking any of the windows in the house. He was also asked by school officials to bring a load of bees over by the University of Washington during a Black Panther Rally that was getting heated. They asked him to "accidently" loose his load in order to dispurse the crowd without police intervention. He did so successfully but his kids had hidden escorts to and from school to ensure their safety.
In October of last year Grandma and Grandpa moved in with JD's parents so we got to see him quite a lot and I can tell you at 93 he was still able to have some fun and play with my kids. One evening after eating dinner he was still sitting at the table and Mason would run by and he's stick his hand out to try and get him and Mason would just giggle. A few minutes later we walked by and Grandpa was on all 4's  on the ground with Mason we thought he's fallen out of his chair but no he rolled out (like he learned in the Army you had to drop and roll and get ready to shoot) and was playing on the floor with him.
Feb 8th he and Grandma celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary so we had a little party for them. I made a cake and my SIL Cassie had an idea to put memories into balloons and then they popped them and read the memories the kids and grandkids had of Grandma and Grandpa. It was fun Grandpa also tried to teach my SIL how to say the ABC's backwards it really was quite amazing he did it over and over never missing a beat.
