Moon and Rainbow

The Moon was so beautiful the other night I had to take a few pictures this is my favorite.

Yesterday we had a little rain but it produced a couple of amazing rainbows.

4th of July

Happy Birthday America!!! We had a really nice low keep 4th of July this year. We tried to go fishing at San Hallow Resevoir but it was not shore fishing friendly especially with 4 young ones in tow.We found Grandpa's Fishing Pond not far away and the kids had fun. Grandma and Grandpa invited us to a little BBQ at the house then we came home to watch the fire works. Our house sits in the perfect place we can watch our towns fireworks from the front yard, and when they're done we can walk to the back deck and see Cedar City's fireworks. No hauling the kids around to watch them and no breakdowns when they're tired and want to go to bed.

Water is Fun

This summer has been so hot and taking 4 kids to the pool by myself is not all that safe and rather crazy if you ask me, way to many places to play and not enough hads to make sure everyone is safe. So we've been having our own water fun at home. I bought an extra sprinkler and a 9x12 plastic drop cloth to make our own slip and slide which would be a ton of fun it the darn wind would stop for a minute. It keeps blowing the plastic away so they've settled for just running through it and being goofy. I got Zane a little pool because he's not super crazy about water in general and the cold water from the sprinkler has him running for cover. I put 2 big buckest of hot water mixed in with a little hose water and he was one happy little boy. Mason enjoyed the pool more than the sprinkler but a good time was still had by all and they cooled off which was the best part.

New Harmony Fire

Wild fires have been raging all over the West this summer and we got a taste of our own last week and I will say it's scary. The New Harmony fire started just before 2pm by 4 it was 30 acres and by 6 it was over 100 thanks to super dry conditions and lots of wind.  The fire burned almost 2000 acres, 8 homes a few cars and out buildings but they were able to save most of home in the area and get it under control rather quickly.  I am so thankful for all of the wonderful men and women who are fighting all of these fires working to protect people lives and homes.

Burned all the way around the house, but the house is still standing untouched

Right next to the interstate it jumped the road in a few places but was put out quickly

I love where I live!!!

We've lived in 4 different states and 8 different houses since we got married and I have to say being in Southern Utah is by far my favorite. The weather is great just about all year long, sure we have a few extra hot/cold days and days where we could blow away but I wouldn't trade it for anywhere else. We have 7 National Parks within in 4 1/2 hours and countless state parks to enjoy. We went up to Panguitch on Friday because they were having a Hot Air Balloon Festival and I thought it would be really cool to go see. The drive there was amazing I LOVE the view all the way their.

This was as far off the ground as they got, it was too windy to launch ;(((

Wedding!

JD's cousin got married a couple of weeks ago and his Aunt asked if I would do the flowers as they were having trouble with the florist they were working with. I gladly agreed and I had a lot of fun playing with flowers again. I really enjoy doing something for the bride and bringing a smile to their face on their happy day. I'm a little rusty so it took a little longer than I planned but it they turned out really well. I'm even getting a chance to try my hard at this as a little side job for the summer. A friend of ours is wedding planner and needs a florist for a few weddings this summer. My first one is this weekend so I'll post those pics when I'm done as well.

Our home away from home!

I have a rather big birthday coming up this weekend the big 30. I've heard what do you want a million times and I still don't know. I did however come up with one thing and Grandpa Mark and Aunt Ivy came through. We've been wanting to do more camping with the kids and last time time did we had Dell and Ellie in one tent while JD, Zane and I slept in another. This wasn't a huge problem but I worried about them getting up to go potty in the middle of the night and not knowing about it. So I asked for a tent and not just any tent a HUGE tent, and I can happily say we can all fit with room to spare. We may take it out this weekend for a test run for our big trip to WY in August. Here it is in all it's glory. I'm a little excited can you tell? THANK YOU for my tent!!!
