Bountiful Baskets

A neighbor told me about bountiful baskets last week so I thought I'd check them out this week. All I can say is WOW what an awesome organization. It's a fresh fruit and veggie co-op with the option of adding additional wonderful things. This week you could add 5 loaves of 9 grain bread, a Mexican ingredient pack, or 7 dozen tortillas 5doz flour and 2 corn. The basket of fruit and veggies cost $15 and the add the additional items are anywhere from $5-15 depending on the options each week. 

My basket came with:

2 Cantaloupes

1 Pineapple

1 3lb bag of small snacking apples

3lbs of bananas

1 package of Blackberries

1-bunch of spinach

1-bunch Swiss chard

1- head Romaine lettuce

1- 1 lb bag baby carrots

3 lbs small red potatoes

6 tomato's 

1 bunch of celery

Dell and Ellie were cutting out some paper animals out of a coloring book and Ellie decided she didn't like her hair long anymore and cut about 3 inches off of 1 spot in the front. When I asked her if she cut her hair she said "yes cuz it was just bothering me". So I took her in this afternoon and she got her first real hair cut from a salon. She got a cut last year but I did it. She did really well and just loved it. Below are her before and after shots the top right is the section she cut out.

Silly Boy

I bought the kids a new set of ABC blocks to lay on the floor to work on letter recognition and to scramble them and put them back in order. This is what Dell decided to do with them.

Progress

Yesterday we continued work on the front yard. We planted 4 rose starters, along with 3 dwarf burning bushes. When they bloom they look like they are on fire. Then we went up to the rock quarry and got 3 loads of small shale rocks to line that section of the yard. We think it looks quite nice, although it will look much better when they've grown some and you can really see the plants.

Polaris Express

This afternoon as we were working in the yard the Polaris Express showed up carrying a large load of children, with a sweet man driving. We are actually buying the house from his daughter so we'd met him before. He owns a ATV business locally and does this on the weekend for the children around the neighborhoods. He comes by he picks them up and they go for a short ride as long as it's okay with parents. Dell and Ellie had a great time and came back so excited, and all I could think of was I am so in love with our new house, neighborhood, and small town. We are truly blessed.

Today being Arbor day we also bought out first fruit tree for the new house, it's a dwarf Plum. We think we are only going to buy the dwarf breed because the trees don't get too big and they produce the same size fruit as an average tree. We are hoping that it is easier to maintain.

TP Toga

Mason has really started getting into things here at the new house because we can't put gates up to keep him out of areas that he couldn't go before. He loves to take things out of the trash as well as put things in the trash that shouldn't be there and we have no where else to put it but in the garage and that is just a hassle. He also love going into the bath room when his brother and sister forget to close their door. Yesterday he came into the living room all wrapped up in TP and dragging a long piece behind him. This afternoon he brought one of his nice clean folded up onsies into the bath room and gave it a nice little dip in the potty. He's having a great time with it all, but he is exhausting me. I would love it if he would figure out how to sleep through the night. Oh how I miss good sleep.
